My name is Abel, and I’ve been into Forex five years. A little background how things transpired… I got exposed to Forex through eToro, got some quick money from Gold, lost it all, inspired to learn more about trading which brought me to the MetaTrader Trading Platform. Soon and true enough, I learnt about Expert Advisors (EA) aka bots, and I bought and tried quite a number of them, none of them worked (even though the bot-owner backed it with “bought reviews” and doctored performance).

I lost quite a sum of money on those EAs, a much bigger sum from trading with those EAs. So, I had my own coded — Flicker.

Flicker in a nutshell, has everything that the EAs that I tried, didn’t, and why Flicker? Depending on your strategy, it can trade very, very fast.

What is Different?

So what’s different with Flicker compared to the other Expert Advisors out there? I can say most EAs in the MQL5 marketplace do not have what Flicker has to offer.

Flicker was designed and built around three (3) core pillars. They are:

• Entry
• Exit
• Risk Management

I discovered a good-EA should be built around these pillars, and I’ll share with you why.

1. Entry

Often times you can conclude a bad trade was due to bad entry. Getting into the market at the wrong time, either at the end of the trend, or, when the market is volatile, or even worse, when the market is going sideways, not knowing where would the market be headed to next, up or down. Bad entry is easily summed up by information that is not sound.

There are many ways how such information can be gathered, through news, insider information, or the most common one, one’s use of indicators. There are many types of indicators out there. Some are fast, while some are slow. Some shows you the trend, some shows you the volume. Each of these indicators are used for a specific reason, or a trade element, never should indicators be used alone.

The problem I found that most of the EAs in the marketplace only uses one (1) indicator to trade with. It is also reason why such EAs perform in the beginning, but they suffer as time goes on — especially EAs that uses the martingale method, it is like, the 1st position of the trade basket is either a hit or miss, and if it missed, then martingale takes over and builds up positions to “right the wrong”. This is the reason why many conclude, martingale will blow your account.

I would say it all depends how martingale is being used, really.

13 Indicators (Flicker: Ultimate)

Flicker emphasizes a lot on Entry so much so in the Ultimate version of Flicker, you can choose from and up to 13 indicators to design your strategy. Flicker also promotes “signal confirmation”. A trade basket is only created when the indicators used give a confluence of signals e.g. Stochastic and Moving Average are used, if both give a Buy signal, or a Sell signal, only then the trade basket is created.

However, the more indicators are used to reach a confluence of signals, the lesser trade might take place, as all the signals would need to “agree” with one another.

Individual Time Frames

I believe you’ve not heard of this before… Each and every indicator, even the entry interval, has it’s own respective time frame. Using the same example above, Moving Average can be giving signal on a daily TF, Stochastic giving signal on an hourly TF, and entry can be on a 15 minute TF. Please jaw-drop, because this is amazing.

But why so complicated? Manual traders take trend on a higher TF, looks for sniper entry at a lower TF.

I hope you’re sold by now.

2. Exit

Have you ever thought “what if” your trade can ride the trend and only takes profit when the trend ends? Well you can, only with Flicker.

I discovered that one of the many frustrations that you may encounter is to define the Take Profit value. Should you put it in points? Would 100 points enough, or 1000 points, or somewhere in between… 400 points? What if your basket is in profit, and it went 30 points short from the set Take Profit, and the market reversed? Instead of profits bagged, now you have built a huge drawdown instead all because of 30 points short?

As you enter the market with indicators, you can exit the market with indicators as well. This will help you ride the trend, and perhaps take as much profit from that basket.

Oh, the 1 Million in Profits… uses this.

3. Risk Management

Sometimes, but rare, Flicker can enter the market at the wrong part of the trend. There has been nothing thought and coded to prevent this… yet… but Flicker (not in the Free version), has interesting recovery methods that you can use to recover from a “bad trade” and protect your equity.

Entry

Enter the market more accurately with confluence of signals from the indicators that you want to use! More than one indicator, on different time frames.

Exit

Let your trade ride out on a trend maximizing your profits instead of being limited by the take profit or worse, rekted by them with a few points short.

Risk Management

When trades don’t go the way you want them to, there are methods you can choose from to save the trade and/or minimize losses.

3. Download the MetaTrader program from your Broker

Depending on which broker you chose to open your Trading Account with, they have their own customized MetaTrader program. Note that Flicker: FREE only works on the MetaTrader4 Platform.

4. Login your Trading Account

Now run the MetaTrader4 Trading Program, and login into your Trading Account.

5. Copy Flicker: FREE into MetaTrader

In your MetaTrader Trading Program, click on File > Open Data Folder.

Next, click on MQL4 > Experts > Paste Flicker: FREE here.

If you’ve purchased the setfiles, paste those setfiles in the Presets folder.

6. License Server Configuration

In your MetaTrader Trading Program, click on Tools > Options.

Under the Expert Advisors tab, check “Allow WebRequest for listed URL:”

Make a new entry and key in: https://www.abelhow.com

7. Getting the License

1. Why isn’t Flicker: FREE trading?
   There can be a few possible reasons. For one, double-check that Auto Trading is enabled. Perhaps it could be due to the strategy… Remember that with more indicators being used together in confluence, trade will be lesser as it takes time for “all the stars to be aligned”.
2. Flicker: FREE ends abruptly.
   If you cannot see the “GUI” after you’ve attached Flicker: FREE onto the chart, it is most likely that the Flicker: FREE you’re using isn’t licensed yet. In order to get it licensed, just send me a PM on Discord with your trading account number, and I will sort it out for you.
3. Is Flicker: FREE really FREE?

1. What account Type?
   Raw Spread or Cent.
2. What leverage to choose?
   It is recommended to go with 1:500.
3. How much money?
   It really depends on the strategy you’re using and which pair you’re trading on, not to mention how many pairs are running concurrently. I would recommend $1,000 on a raw/standard account, or translated to $10 on a cent account.
